BANDLAB LOgIN
- Head over to edu.bandlab.com.
- Click “sign in” in top right hand corner.
- On the following screen click “sign up” to create an account.
- Once you have created an account to access the school you will need a personal code which will be issued after the first lesson.
Please note your login will only work on the edu.bandlab.com site. It won’t work on the full bandlab.com site. The functionality of the software is identical, it just removes the social media aspect of the website.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR BANDLAB
BandLab for Education is accessible on Mac and PC via Google Chrome, and does not have a mobile app. The minimum system requirements for the main BandLab platform are:
- iOS: iOS 14 or later
- Android: Android 7.0 or later
- Browser: A computer that can run the latest version of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or any Chromium-based browser
- Internet: An internet connection is needed for syncing in BandLab
BandLab is a cloud-based app, so all content is saved online. Users can start a new project offline, but need to be connected to internet to download instruments and sounds, save, or publish tracks.
Further equipment
Initially you will not need any additional equipment but as the sessions progress you may choose to invest in some hardware. Below is a list of potential pieces of kit and some ideas of what to buy.
Audio Interfaces
This is a device for getting sound in and out of your computer. Things to look out for are phantom power (+48v) to power condenser microphones, one or two inputs, headphone jack and line out for speakers. Below is a list of entry level audio interfaces.

Midi Keyboard Controller
This is a device that will help you to input playing data into your chosen software with a more natural, musical edge. The choice in Midi controllers is huge with lots and lots of variation on features. From programable pads, pots and sliders to different sizes of piano area the choices are very personal. Below is a list of entry level midi keyboard controllers.

Microphones
The world of microphones is extensive and can be very expensive. Below is a list of entry level condenser microphones for recording vocals.

Headphones
Any headphones will do as a start but as you progress you may wish to invest in something a little more professional to hear how your music sounds. Below is a list of recommended headphones:

Monitor Speakers
Working on headphones will be fine to start off but headphones can become tiring on the ears when sitting for longer sessions. If you’re at this stage welcome to the world of monitor speakers!
